Dean,

Good question, one I brought up with Trinity coach Mike Walsh over the weekend. Everyone is focused on where Tevin is headed and Eric has been overlooked. I have to admit I haven't really spoken to him about it but promise to soon. I know he has received a lot of inquiries from several schools. He is a borderline Division I prospect and the only thing that makes him borderline is his size. He is a great shooter and handles the ball well. The only time he gets in trouble is when he tries to force the action too much and makes bad passes.
I think a lot depends on what Eric is looking for in a school. Can he play at the Division I level? I'll offer two words: Mike Trimboli.

Dave:

Where do you think Jean-Guillaume will end up playing in college (assuming that he does)? If you cannot list particular schools, what league or level, e.g., A-10, MEAC?

GREAT article Dave - as usual! Seems the rest was well needed & most refreshing! LOVE the article abt the lady Black Knights!! Really well written, really intuitive, really explanatory, even to a 'lay person'. :) Thanks for writing so much about the girls hoop teams;so many writers focus almost exclusively on boys, and for both, on Trinity (I'm an alum, but it still bugs me - there are more teams in the FCIAC than TCHS!!
Thanks once again for EXCELLENT coverage, again for the girls hoops in particular.
Have a nice weekend, and stay safe in the snow (oh, and Happy Holidays!!)

Hi Dave - enjoy your articles/blogs.
Lots about football now - it's December - it's basketball season now. Girls and boys. Since your paper is THE PREMIERE paper for the FCIAC and one that many of us up and down county look to for news, scoop, predictions, standings, etc., I for one would welcome a step back from the football field and onto the basketball court. JMHO :)
Peace

The CIAC is foolish not to do everything in its power to hold the game at Boyle Stadium. This would absolutely be the biggest crowd ever to attend a High School game in the state if the game were played there. This is a STATE final and no doubt the fans who were all over on Thanksgiving would come to watch these two class teams play again.

Bad move for promoting high school football if the game is not played at Boyle.

this is kind of a joke...the state stands to make a lot of money if 10k show up

Trumbull holds how many?

NC played in the state finals at Trumbull last year in very cold, windy conditions...there were maybe 1500 people there and the place was still half full

How is Trumbull going to handle this many people?

A BIG Thank you for the wonderful article you did on Chris Sciarretta from NCHS at the FCIAC on Turkey Bowl. You brought his spirits up that he needed. It was a difficult
week for him. Thank you so much.

Thanks for the quick response Dave.

Because I'm a fan, and a biased fan at that, I'll make a prediction. I'll take Darien in an epic game, 31-28.

Unlike some other papers, I don't believe in making predictions on high school sports. I don't think it is proper to make picks on games I am going to cover and my personal feeling is you don't treat high school sports the way you cover college and professional sports. I'm not sure what is gained by it.
Having said that, I will say I would be surprised if the game is not close since the teams match up pretty closely and as history shows, like last year, these teams usually play competitive games.
What about all of you out there? Who is going to be the FCIAC champion and top seed for the state playoffs?
